Frequently asked questions
I have animal hair and dust allergies, do you have any pets?
I have a cockapoo dog called Benji. Cockapoos don't shed much but they do still shed. Also, there will be more dust in the house due to the dog.
How will a treatment session work given the Covid-19 situation?
Things will run a bit differently than before the pandemic, as you can imagine! I've roughed out how things will run on the Covid-19 page. If you've got any questions that aren't covered there then please get in touch to discuss things..
What happens in a typical treatment session?
I will send you through a Covid-19 screening form and a consultation form to fill in online ahead of your session, we’ll discuss the content in a phone call a number of days ahead of your session. In this call we will review how you are feeling physically, your medical history and what you would like to gain from your treatment.
You will be left in the treatment room for a few minutes to give you time to remove the appropriate clothing, this will vary depending on the treatment you are having (you will never be asked to remove your underwear), and to make yourself comfortable on the massage couch.
We will then proceed with your treatment. You will be draped with towels throughout your treatment, and I will only uncover the part of the body that I am working on, covering it again before I move on to massage another area.
What’s the difference between a relaxing holistic massage session and a pregnancy massage?
In a pregnancy massage the power of touch is used to support your physical and emotional wellbeing, just as it is in a relaxing holistic massage. Massage in pregnancy uses a slightly different range of techniques, and you’ll be lying on your side (rather than on your front or back) for the treatment, just to make sure that everything is comfortable for you and your baby.
What happens in a reiki session?
During a reiki session you lie fully clothed on the massage couch. I channel reiki energy to you by putting my hands gently in a number of (non-invasive) positions on or above your body for a few minutes at a time.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is usually made using a bank card when you book using my online booking system. Please contact me if you'd prefer to pay by cash or bank transfer. I take payment ahead of your treatment.
